Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became morning news anchor on WCBD TV and was an investigative reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax response of the police in response to DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell's experience in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV.
